Why Pay Attention to Our Dreams?
Dreams contain raw, unfiltered information about ourselves, and when mined for meaning can be one of the most potent tools for self-discovery. Most cultures besides modern western culture have given great importance to dreams, and it’s a great loss that we don’t pay more attention to them. Dreams reveal our shadows, and when we shine the light of conscious awareness into the dark spaces, our whole selves can emerge more fully.
I use a combination of Jungian dreamwork along with other post-Jungian methods. I am not trained as a Jungian analyst, but I draw from a variety of ideas and methods to help you understand the symbolism in your dreams and make more sense of what’s not yet fully conscious.
I invite you to bring in dreams to our work as they come up. And, if it speaks to you, to keep a dream journal to track your dreams. Even short scenes or impressions from a dream can be valuable and contain significant meaning, so I always invite a sense of curiosity even if you’ve never paid much attention to your dreams before.
