I’m endlessly committed to my own growth path, and continually welcome the peeling back of new layers and understanding in my own life. I know what it’s like to confront shadow and shed layers of shame, reprogram cultural stigma, and what it’s like to knock on the door of grief. I personally believe it's important for therapists to do their own work, and while I’m far from perfect (who would want that??) or fully healed, you can count on me to be reflecting on myself and growing while I help you to become more conscious in your own life.
I’ve had an eclectic professional and personal history before I became I therapist, and I think my broad life experience makes me well suited to understand and work with wide a variety of clients. I’ve been a musician and artist my whole life. My undergraduate degree was in music technology and I’ve released a number of albums of original electronic music, touring professionally for a number of years in my early 20s. As such I tend to work well with other artists and creatives. I’ve also worked on several collaborative entrepreneurial projects, and as such work well with professionals and self-starters of all kinds. And, since 2016 I’ve also been practicing as a health coach, and so I have a background in health and biology and am scientifically literate, which is another lens I’m able to look through when considering all the factors that create mental health.
I’ve been interested in dreamwork and a variety of esoteric topics since I was a teenager, keeping a dream journal on and off for the past 18 years. I personally tend to work well with people who view life with a spiritual perspective and value working with a therapist who won’t judge or devalue their experience. I’ve always been a bit off the beaten path, and know what it's like to experience life differently than other people around me. I welcome working with others who’s authentic sense of self differs from from the mainstream way of being. I also welcome working with with those who want to break out of constrictive boxes.
UI’m here to both celebrate your uniqueness and help you become more stable in your natural brilliance. I believe that integrating a variety of viewpoints and perspectives is important in helping us grow, and that honoring and reconciling many different ways of knowing, the intuitive and the rational, the subjective and empirical, the modern and the indigenous, is an important catalyst for growth and development. I also see our individual work as one of the most necessary things we can do to impact collective change, and so my personal commitment to therapeutic work also mirrors my hope for a healthier, more conscious and self-reflective world.
Ultimately, I love doing therapy because I love people. I'm curious about them. I'm infinitely fascinated by the different ways we see the world and do life. And, if I can help someone become more of themselves and get to know them in the process, it feeds a deep part of my soul that I can't get enough of. So, I look forward to letting my curiosity help you get to know yourself better.
